Interest in science: “I have loved science ever since I was little. It started with a fascination with dinosaurs, as many kids have, but it never went away with me. I would read all kinds of books about dinosaurs and talk about them all the time. My favorite movies were the Jurassic Park franchise, and the series is still a beloved one of mine today. On career day in elementary school I dressed as a paleontologist, complete with brushes and all. It is hard for me to imagine a future where I am not a scientist, and I do not feel as though I would be fulfilled with a life where I am not a scientist...”

Interest in science: “Science has been my favorite class since I was little. I always loved the hands on aspect of it where as all my other classes were textbook led. Marine Biology interests me the most. staring when I was little I started walking the beach trying to find shells and crustaceans. As I got older, I started to take family trips to Florida, where most of my marine science knowledge comes from. I've done lots of fishing down there, for fish and for
sharks. I've kayaked with manatees and dolphins and swam with stingrays…”
